About Alejandro Almodovar

I am an Assistant Professor at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and a PhD student in Causal Deep Learning. I am part of the GAPS research group, where I work at the intersection of causal inference and machine learning. My current research explores causal learning, generative models, and survival analysis.

I am advised by Dr. Juan Parras and Dr. Santiago Zazo, and I actively supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s theses. I also give lectures and talks on topics related to causality and deep learning.

I recently introduced Decaflow, a causal deep generative model for handling hidden confounders. I also write about causal inference and related topics on my blog.
